Dear Friends,
As 2023 comes to a close, we look back and are so grateful for the work our organization has achieved. This work is only possible with the contributions from our community! Thank you all for your continued support of Performing Stars. What started more than 30 years ago as a single shining star focused on an arts-driven youth program in Marin City, has exploded into a bright constellation of services within a treasured community institution.
If you know someone who has benefited from our programs and services you know how special the work we do is for the youth and families of Marin County. We have raised $400,000 so far this year with a goal of $500,000 for 2023. Help us get to the finish line and reach our goal by the end of the year! 2023: LOOKING BACK
In 2023 we provided the following programs and services:
• Assistance with scholarships and placement in existing enrichment programs • Opportunities to perform on stage
• Access to special field trips (including transportation assistance, chaperones, nutritious meals and snacks)
• Special invitations to workshops, presentations and performances
• Coaching and life-skills workshops
• Access to trusted mentors and advisors for support in all aspects of life
While celebrating Marin City’s unique Bay Area legacy, Performing Stars also serves the entire county with youth enrichment programs; historical, cultural and civic engagement opportunities; and critical safety net community support services for the whole family.
2024: LOOKING FORWARD
As we look towards 2024 we have bigger and brighter goals with more youth to serve. We are really excited to add a new leadership program for middle and high school students to develop them as the next generation of leaders.

Performing Stars transforms the lives of low-income, multicultural children, and adults in communities across Marin. Our organization was founded on the belief that everyone, regardless of age, race, or income, deserves an opportunity to “reach for the stars” by acquiring new skills, developing self-esteem, and building confidence. Through our programs and services, we enhance academic and professional readiness, teach good work habits and positive social skills, provide leadership development opportunities, invest in community infrastructure, and cultivate the critical thinking and communication skills that lift individuals out of poverty and into a bright future.
HISTORY: 33 YEARS OF SERVING MARIN COUNTY
Since 1990 Performing Stars has served over 4500 youth and over 99% of our alumni finish high school. 50% of that number go on to college or trade school and the rest get a job. The ultimate performance is to become productive members of society.
Performing Stars has delivered a staggering 15,000 engagements of impactful services since its inception. Our journey begins with children as young as five, embarking on a transformative adventure that spans a multitude of enriching experiences. What sets Performing Stars apart is our commitment to fostering long-term relationships. The majority of our participants stay with us for an inspiring five year journey during which they undergo a remarkable metamorphosis.
